The International Federation of Robotics recently released updated data that reveals there are currently 3.5 million industrial robots in operation around the world--this number is greater than the populations of every US city except for New York and Los Angeles. With labor markets becoming increasingly scarce, the rise of robotics is changing manufacturing as we know it: In 2021, half of all new factory robot installations occurred in China, which has established itself as a major player in the manufacturing industry due largely to its vast human labor population.
