That's how an industry official described the situation at airports this weekend. Over 19,000 flights were canceled or delayed in the US since Thursday, including more than 5,000 on Sunday alone, due to a lack of staff and virtually everyone in the country deciding to take holiday at once. Friday, was the most crowded day yet this year for air travel.
