According to a new study from the Brookings Institution, between 2 million and 4 million working-age Americans are not currently working as  result of long Covid, which could help explain the United States' persistent labor deficiency. For some perspective, 3 million workers is roughly 1.8% of the total civilian workforce, and their inability to work translates to $168 billion in lost annual earnings.

California's Governor Gavin Newsom announced new regulations around gas-powered cars in his state, stating that the carbon-emitting tailpipe will soon be a thing of the past. The California Air Resources Board approved a plan yesterday that would prohibit the sale of new gas-powered automobiles beginning in 2035.
