All of the nine schools in New York State where less than 1% of students tested at grade level in 2019 were Hasidic boys' institutions. All of the 1,000 pupils from one NY private Hasidic institution failed a standardized reading and math that was given. These figures come from an enlightening New York Times investigation into how Hasidic private schools have insulated children from a fundamental education while simultaneously obtaining more than $1 billion in government funding during just the previous four years.

On the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, President Joe Biden paid a visit to the National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial in Virginia. During his speech, the president recalled what Queen Elizabeth II said to Americans after the catastrophe: “Grief is the price we pay for love.”
